What this policy covers
- This policy explains how BOLDHASH IBC uses cookies and similar technologies on boldhash.io. Read it together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle the personal data some of these technologies generate.
- Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website, which let it recognise your browser between requests. Alongside cookies we use local storage, session tokens, server log files and device identifiers. In this policy we call all of them cookies.
2
What we use, and whether you have a choice
- Strictly necessary — no consent required. Maintains your session, keeps you signed in, protects the sign-in and verification process, balances load, and protects the Platform against automated abuse. Without these the Platform cannot operate.
- Security and fraud prevention — no consent required. Recognises your device, detects unusual access patterns, and supports the IP address and geolocation checks we use to confirm that our services are available in your location and that your stated country of residence is consistent with your activity. These form part of the controls described in our Restricted Jurisdictions Notice.
- Functional — consent where the law applicable to you requires it. Remembers preferences such as language and interface settings so you do not have to set them on each visit.
- Analytics and performance — consent where the law applicable to you requires it. Tells us, in aggregate, which pages are visited, how long sessions last, where errors occur and where visitors arrive from, so we can fix faults and improve the Platform.
- We do not use advertising or targeted-marketing cookies, and we do not allow third parties to use cookies on our website for their own advertising. If that changes we will update this policy and, where consent is required, obtain it before any such cookie is used.
3
What these technologies process
- Depending on the category, cookies may process your IP address, browser type and version, device type and operating system, approximate location, indicators that a VPN, proxy or anonymising service is in use, the pages you visit and links you follow, your session and authentication status, your cookie preferences, and error and performance data.
- Some of this is personal data. Where it is, we process it as described in our Privacy Policy.
4
Third-party technologies
- Some cookies are set by providers that support our operations rather than by us directly. These are limited to our hosting, content-delivery and IT security providers; our identity-verification provider, whose tools operate during onboarding and verification; and our analytics provider, where analytics cookies are in use and you have consented to them.
- These providers may process the resulting information only for the purposes we have engaged them for, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
5
Managing cookies
- Where a cookie banner or preference tool is available on the website, use it to accept or decline the categories that require consent, and to change your choice later. Independently of that, your browser lets you block cookies, delete cookies already stored, or be notified before one is set. Browser controls apply only to the browser you set them in, so you will need to repeat them on each device.
- Strictly necessary and security cookies cannot be switched off through our preference tool, because the Platform cannot authenticate you or protect your account without them. If you block them in your browser you will not be able to sign in or complete verification, and parts of the website will not work.
6
How long cookies last
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them; their lifetime depends on their purpose, and we set it no longer than is necessary for that purpose. Information derived from cookies that forms part of a compliance or security record is retained in line with section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
7
Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy when we change the technologies we use or our providers, or to reflect legal developments. The current version is published on boldhash.io and takes effect when published, unless we state a later date.
